Syd Lawrence, DipFA

Founder of Delphina

Syd founded Delphina after getting fed up with being kept confused by the UK personal finance industry. He holds the Level 4 Diploma for Financial Advisers (DipFA) but does not practise as a regulated adviser: he builds tools and writes guides that give people financial clarity.

Qualification

Level 4 Diploma for Financial Advisers (DipFA), awarded by The London Institute of Banking & Finance.

Syd holds the Level 4 Diploma for Financial Advisers (DipFA), the qualification UK financial advisers need. He is not a practising regulated adviser, and nothing he writes for Delphina is personal financial advice.

What the qualification means for what you read here: the guides are written by someone trained in UK tax, pensions, investments and the rules that govern financial advice, and they are checked against primary sources such as GOV.UK, the FCA, the ONS and the Pensions UK Retirement Living Standards. What it does not mean: Delphina is not authorised by the FCA to give advice, and no guide, calculator or coaching session is a personal recommendation.

What Syd writes about

Guidance, not advice

Delphina provides guidance, not regulated financial advice. If you need a personal recommendation, for example on a defined benefit pension transfer worth £30,000 or more, which the law requires regulated advice for, speak to an FCA-authorised adviser. You can check one on the FCA register.
