Monarch Money free trial: 7 days, and what happens at the end

Monarch Money gives you 7 days free, card required up front. Here is what you get during it, what happens on the last day, and how to get out.

Information, not financial advice. Prices and terms change; check the source before you buy.

The short answer

Monarch Money gives you 7 days free and asks for a payment method up front, so it converts to a paid subscription unless you cancel. Verified 21 July 2026.

During the 7 days

These things stay locked during the trial:

  • Plus features unless you trial the Plus tier

When it ends

On day 7 the subscription starts and your card is charged, unless you have cancelled before then. Set a reminder a couple of days early rather than relying on theirs.

How to cancel

Monarch states the trial requires a payment method and that you must cancel in settings before it ends, otherwise the full annual charge applies. Seven days is short, so set a reminder on day five.

Cancellation processes change. Check Monarch Money's own page before you rely on this.

Free options in the same category

Several tools in the budgeting category have permanent free tiers rather than trials, and each gives up something different: usually either the account connections or the depth of analysis. Delphina's free plan is one of them, and it gives up the deeper scenario modelling that the paid plans carry.

For what Monarch Money costs once the trial is over, see Monarch Money pricing.

Trying Delphina instead

Delphina does not run a trial, because the Free plan does not expire. No card, no countdown, nothing to cancel. If it turns out to be useful, Wealth Builder is £9.99 a month. If it is not, leave it alone and it costs nothing.
