  • Free tier: yes. Cleo's help centre describes Plus, Pro and Builder as subscriptions layered on the app, and separately states you can request a cash advance without subscribing, so an unpaid level exists. Cleo does not publish a feature list for it, so treat the free level as undefined rather than generous.
  • Annual billing: Plus is $44.99 a year against $71.88 if you pay monthly at the top of the range
  • Billing currency: Cleo prices in US dollars. It is not currently offered to new UK users, and any US-dollar charge on a UK card would carry an FX fee.

Which plan you would actually be on

  • Plus at $1.99 to $5.99 per month is the tier that covers cleo's entry paid tier.
  • Pro at $8.99 per month is the tier that covers everything in plus.
  • Builder at $10.99 to $14.99 per month is the tier that covers everything in pro.

Cleo suits us users who want a conversational nudge about spending and occasional access to a small advance, so that is the lens to pick a tier through.

What the price does not cover

  • Cleo's help centre describes Plus, Pro and Builder as subscriptions layered on the app, and separately states you can request a cash advance without subscribing, so an unpaid level exists. Cleo does not publish a feature list for it, so treat the free level as undefined rather than generous.

Feature by feature

This page is about price. For the feature-by-feature comparison, see Delphina vs Cleo.

Where Delphina fits

Delphina's Free plan is £0 with no time limit and no card. Wealth Builder is £9.99 a month, Investor £19.99, both billed in pounds.

Cleo is better than us at making a money app feel like a conversation, and its advance feature solves a real short-term problem. It is a US product with no UK presence, and it stops at this month, so it cannot tell a UK saver whether their pension and ISA are on track.
