Ask whether they have registered for MMTAR and request their ASA reference.
2. Check the GOV.UK guidance
Read HMRC’s checker and registration conditions so you know which phase applies to your adviser.
3. Check agent authorisation
Sign in to your personal tax account and review who can deal with HMRC for you.
